About Us

The GPFAA Orchestra Guild is a registered 501 (c) (3) non profit organization.  Any donations made to the Guild are tax deductible.  The Guild is dedicated to promoting the orchestra program at GPFAA.  One of our primary missions is raising funds to provide the orchestra program the support that they might not otherwise get.  Every year the Guild provides music funding for the program to supplement any funds that might be made available by the district or campus administration.  This is vital as our kids go through music like they do clothes during a growth spurt!  The guild also provides support for many of the other orchestra activities and sponsors, organizes, and runs special events for orchestra students.  We can always use volunteers and help during concerts and events.  We encourage all families to join the guild and be active participants.

Richard Galvan is in his 28th year as an Orchestra Director in the Grand Prairie Independent School District.  His career began as the Orchestra Director for Jefferson Intermediate School and Lee Middle School.  Mr. Galvan taught at Grand Prairie High School for 13 years before joining the faculty of The Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy. His career has been devoted to building and maintaining the orchestra programs in GPISD. However, his ultimate goal is to make his students life-long lovers of music. Mr. Galvan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas - Pan American in Edinburg, Texas. Mr. Galvan is the Director of Orchestras at The Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy and is certified to teach All-Level Music Education and A. P.
